Psalms 115

1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness.

1 Glorifique o seu nome, Senhor; não o nosso nome. Torne o seu nome amado e respeitado e mostre ao mundo o seu amor e a sua fidelidade.

2 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”

2 Assim as nações pagãs não poderão dizer: “Onde está o Deus dos israelitas?”

3 Our God is in heaven; He does as He pleases.

3 Pois o nosso Deus está nos céus e faz tudo o que quer.

4 Their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

4 Mas os deuses de outros povos não passam de estátuas de ouro e prata, feitas por mãos humanas.

5 They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;

5 Têm boca, mas não falam: olhos, mas não veem.

6 they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell;

6 Têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem: nariz, mas não sentem cheiro.

7 they have hands, but cannot feel; they have feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even clear their throats.

7 Têm mãos, mas não seguram; pés, mas não andam; e são totalmente mudos!

8 Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.

8 Aqueles que fazem essas imagens e as adoram tornam-se como elas.

9 O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

9 Israelitas, confiem no Senhor! Ele é o nosso apoio e o escudo que nos protege.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

10 Sacerdotes, confiem no Senhor! Ele é o seu apoio e o seu escudo de proteção.

11 You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

11 Todos vocês que amam e obedecem ao Senhor, confiem nele! O Senhor é o seu apoio e o seu escudo de proteção.

12 The LORD is mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron;

12 O Senhor se lembra de nós constantemente; por isso, nos abençoa. Abençoará os israelitas e abençoará os sacerdotes, da família de Arão.

13 He will bless those who fear the LORD—small and great alike.

13 Ele abençoará aqueles que o amam e lhe obedecem, grandes ou pequenos.

14 May the LORD give you increase, both you and your children.

14 Que o Senhor os abençoe com muitos filhos, a vocês e aos seus descendentes!

15 May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

15 Que o Senhor, o Criador do céu e da terra, os abençoe ricamente!

16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth He has given to mankind.

16 Porque os mais altos céus pertencem ao Senhor, mas a terra confiou ao homem.

17 It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence.

17 É impossível louvar o Senhor depois de morrer e ir para o reino dos mortos.

18 But it is we who will bless the LORD, both now and forevermore. Hallelujah!

18 Mas nós que estamos vivos louvaremos o Senhor desde agora e para sempre! Aleluia!
