Psalms 116

1 I love the LORD, for He has heard my voice—my appeal for mercy.

1 Eu amo o Senhor, porque ele sempre me ouve e atende às minhas orações.

2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.

2 Ele me escuta com toda a atenção; por isso, sempre pedirei a sua ajuda para minha vida.

3 The ropes of death entangled me; the anguish of Sheol overcame me; I was confronted by trouble and sorrow.

3 A morte me olhou de frente e quase me levou no seu laço; fiquei completamente dominado pelo medo do Sheol, e o desespero e a tristeza me dominaram.

4 Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, deliver my soul!”

4 Então, clamei pelo nome do Senhor: “Ó Senhor, salve a minha vida!”

5 The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

5 Vi assim como o Senhor é bondoso e como é grande a sua justiça; o nosso Deus é cheio de misericórdia por nós.

6 The LORD preserves the simplehearted; I was helpless, and He saved me.

6 O Senhor cuida das pessoas simples e sinceras; eu estive a ponto de morrer, e ele me salvou.

7 Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.

7 Agora minha alma pode ficar bem tranquila porque o Senhor tem sido bom para mim.

8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.

8 Pois o Senhor me livrou da morte e enxugou as minhas lágrimas de tristeza dos olhos; não deixou os meus pés tropeçarem.

9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

9 Por isso, eu viverei bem perto do Senhor até o fim da minha vida.

10 I believed, therefore I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”

10 Ainda que tenha dito: “Estou muito aflito”, eu acreditei.

11 In my alarm I said, “All men are liars!”

11 Em pânico eu disse: “Não se pode confiar em ninguém”.

12 How can I repay the LORD for all His goodness to me?

12 E agora, como posso pagar ao Senhor as coisas boas que ele fez por mim?

13 I will lift the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.

13 Tomarei o cálice da salvação e invocarei o seu nome.

14 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people.

14 Diante de todo o povo, cumprirei as promessas que fiz ao Senhor.

15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.

15 Para os fiéis, até a morte é bênção e vitória da parte do Senhor.

16 Truly, O LORD, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have broken my bonds.

16 Senhor, sou seu servo. Sou seu servo, filho de sua serva. O Senhor quebrou as correntes que me prendiam.

17 I will offer to You a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.

17 Eu o louvarei e oferecerei sacrifícios de gratidão; e invocarei o nome do Senhor.

18 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people,

18 Diante de todo o povo, cumprirei as promessas que fiz ao Senhor;

19 in the courts of the LORD’s house, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!

19 farei isso nos pátios do templo do Senhor, em Jerusalém. Aleluia!
