Psalms 120

1 A song of ascents. In my distress I cried to the LORD, and He answered me.

1 Quando estou cercado de problemas, peço ajuda ao Senhor e ele me atende.

2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips and a deceitful tongue.

2 Ó Senhor, livre-me dos lábios mentirosos! Livre-me da língua que procura me enganar.

3 What will He do to you, and what will be added to you, O deceitful tongue?

3 Língua traiçoeira, o que ele lhe dará? Como lhe retribuirá?

4 Sharp arrows will come from the warrior, with burning coals of the broom tree!

4 Ele a castigará com flechas afiadas e queimadas com brasas vivas.

5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar!

5 Pobre de mim! Vivo entre estranhos, na terra de Meseque, e entre os moradores de Quedar.

6 Too long have I dwelt among those who hate peace.

6 Há muito tempo tenho vivido entre os que odeiam a paz.

7 I am in favor of peace; but when I speak, they want war.

7 Sou a favor da paz. No entanto, basta falar de paz, e eles insistem em falar de guerra.
