Psalms 41

1 For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Blessed is the one who cares for the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of trouble.

1 Heri mtu yule anayemjali mnyonge, Bwana atamwokoa wakati wa shida.

2 The LORD will protect and preserve him; He will bless him in the land and refuse to give him over to the will of his foes.

2 Bwana atamlinda na kuyahifadhi maisha yake, atambariki katika nchi na hatamwacha katika tamaa ya adui zake.

3 The LORD will sustain him on his bed of illness and restore him from his bed of sickness.

3 Bwana atamtegemeza awapo mgonjwa kitandani, atamwinua kutoka kitandani mwake.

4 I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against You.”

4 Nilisema, “Ee Bwana nihurumie, niponye, maana nimekutenda dhambi wewe.”

5 My enemies say with malice: “When will he die and be forgotten?”

5 Adui zangu wanasema kwa hila, “Lini atakufa, na jina lake litokomee kabisa.”

6 My visitor speaks falsehood; he gathers slander in his heart; he goes out and spreads it abroad.

6 Kila anapokuja mtu kunitazama, huzungumza uongo, huku moyo wake hukusanya masingizio; kisha huondoka na kuyasambaza huku na huko.

7 All who hate me whisper against me; they imagine the worst for me:

7 Adui zangu wote hunongʼonezana dhidi yangu, hao huniwazia mabaya sana, wakisema,

8 “A vile disease has been poured into him; he will never get up from where he lies!”

8 “Ugonjwa mbaya sana umempata, kamwe hatainuka tena kitandani mwake.”

9 Even my close friend whom I trusted, the one who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

9 Hata rafiki yangu wa karibu niliyemwamini, yule aliyekula chakula changu ameniinulia kisigino chake.

10 But You, O LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up, that I may repay them.

10 Lakini wewe, Ee Bwana, nihurumie, ukaniinue tena, ili niweze kuwalipiza kisasi.

11 By this I know that You delight in me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.

11 Najua kwamba wapendezwa nami, kwa kuwa adui yangu hanishindi.

12 In my integrity You uphold me and set me in Your presence forever.

12 Katika uadilifu wangu unanitegemeza na kuniweka kwenye uwepo wako milele.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.

13 Msifuni Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, tangu milele na hata milele. Amen na Amen.
