Psalms 41

1 For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Blessed is the one who cares for the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of trouble.

1 Dios bendice a los que son buenos con los pobres. El Señor los libra en tiempo de angustia.

2 The LORD will protect and preserve him; He will bless him in the land and refuse to give him over to the will of his foes.

2 Los protege y los mantiene vivos; los prospera y los libra de sus enemigos.

3 The LORD will sustain him on his bed of illness and restore him from his bed of sickness.

3 Los cuida en sus enfermedades, y alivia sus dolores y preocupaciones.

4 I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against You.”

4 Oré diciendo: «Señor, ten piedad y sáname, pues he pecado contra ti».

5 My enemies say with malice: “When will he die and be forgotten?”

5 Pero mis enemigos dicen: «Ojalá muera pronto y caiga en el olvido».

6 My visitor speaks falsehood; he gathers slander in his heart; he goes out and spreads it abroad.

6 ¡Qué amistosos se muestran cuando me visitan! Y cuando se van, salen a contar las calumnias que recogieron. Y cuando se van, se ríen y se burlan.

7 All who hate me whisper against me; they imagine the worst for me:

7 Susurran entre ellos imaginando lo peor de mí.

8 “A vile disease has been poured into him; he will never get up from where he lies!”

8 «Tenga lo que tenga, es sin remedio»; dicen. «¡De esa cama no se levantará!».

9 Even my close friend whom I trusted, the one who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

9 Hasta mi mejor amigo se ha vuelto contra mí; el hombre en quien yo confiaba; ¡con el que compartía el pan!

10 But You, O LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up, that I may repay them.

10 ¡Señor, no me abandones! Muéstrate benigno y sáname, Señor, para que pueda darles su merecido.

11 By this I know that You delight in me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.

11 Veo que estás contento de mí porque no has permitido que mis enemigos me derroten.

12 In my integrity You uphold me and set me in Your presence forever.

12 Me has preservado por mi honradez; has permitido que para siempre esté en presencia tuya.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.

13 ¡Bendigan al Señor, al Dios de Israel, cuya existencia data de un eterno pasado, y se extiende a un eterno porvenir! ¡Así sea! ¡Amén!
