Psalms 48

1 A song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, His holy mountain.

1 Ein Lied; ein Psalm. Von den Kindern Korahs. (048-2) Groß ist der HERR und hoch gelobt in der Stadt unsres Gottes, auf seinem heiligen Berge.

2 Beautiful in loftiness, the joy of all the earth, like the peaks of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the great King.

2 (048-3) Schön erhebt sich der Berg Zion, die Freude des ganzen Landes; auf der Seite gegen Mitternacht ist die Stadt des großen Königs.

3 God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be a fortress.

3 (048-4) Gott ist in ihren Palästen bekannt als eine feste Burg.

4 For behold, the kings assembled; they all advanced together.

4 (048-5) Denn siehe, Könige haben sich verbündet und sind miteinander vorübergezogen.

5 They saw and were astounded; they fled in terror.

5 (048-6) Sie haben sich verwundert, als sie solches sahen; sie erschraken und flohen davon.

6 Trembling seized them there, anguish like a woman in labor.

6 (048-7) Zittern ergriff sie daselbst, Angst wie eine Gebärende.

7 With a wind from the east You wrecked the ships of Tarshish.

7 (048-8) Durch den Ostwind zerbrichst du Tarsisschiffe.

8 As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the LORD of Hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish her forever. Selah

8 (048-9) Wie wir's gehört, so haben wir's gesehen in der Stadt des HERRN der Heerscharen, in der Stadt unsres Gottes. Gott wird sie erhalten bis in Ewigkeit. (Pause.)

9 Within Your temple, O God, we contemplate Your loving devotion.

9 (048-10) Wir gedenken, o Gott, deiner Gnade inmitten deines Tempels.

10 Your name, O God, like Your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.

10 (048-11) O Gott, wie dein Name, also reicht auch dein Ruhm bis an die Enden der Erde; deine Rechte ist voller Gerechtigkeit.

11 Mount Zion is glad, the daughters of Judah rejoice, on account of Your judgments.

11 (048-12) Der Berg Zion freut sich, die Töchter Judas frohlocken um deiner Gerichte willen.

12 March around Zion, encircle her, count her towers,

12 (048-13) Geht rings um Zion, umwandelt sie, zählt ihre Türme!

13 consider her ramparts, tour her citadels, that you may tell the next generation.

13 (048-14) Beachtet ihre Bollwerke, durchgehet ihre Paläste, auf daß ihr es den Nachkommen erzählet,

14 For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death.

14 (048-15) daß dieser Gott unser Gott ist immer und ewig; er führt uns über den Tod hinweg!
