Psalms 76

1 For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A song. God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.

1 Deus é conhecido em Judá; o seu nome é grande e respeitado em Israel.

2 His tent is in Salem, His dwelling place in Zion.

2 Sua casa está em Salém; o seu templo está no monte Sião.

3 There He shattered the flaming arrows, the shield and sword and weapons of war. Selah

3 Ali ele destruiu as flechas reluzentes, os escudos e as espadas, as armas de guerra do inimigo.

4 You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains filled with game.

4 Como o Senhor é glorioso! É mais majestoso do que os altos montes.

5 The valiant lie plundered; they sleep their last sleep. No men of might could lift a hand.

5 Os homens valorosos foram derrotados; dormem o sono da morte, e nem os soldados mais valentes puderam evitar a derrota.

6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and rider lie stunned.

6 Quando o Senhor deu a ordem, ó Deus de Jacó, carros de guerra, cavalos e cavaleiros ficaram paralisados, fora de ação.

7 You alone are to be feared. When You are angry, who can stand before You?

7 Somente o Senhor é tremendo; não é sem razão que todos têm medo da sua ira.

8 From heaven You pronounced judgment, and the earth feared and was still

8 Lá dos céus decretou o juízo, e a terra treme; os povos ficaram quietos de medo,

9 when God rose up to judge, to save all the lowly of the earth. Selah

9 quando o Senhor se levantou para cumprir a sentença e salvar todos os oprimidos da terra.

10 Even the wrath of man shall praise You; with the survivors of wrath You will clothe Yourself.

10 E quando o homem, cheio de ira, se revolta contra o Senhor, a sua vitória ainda é maior e a sua glória aumentará. E com os restos da batalha o Senhor se vestirá.

11 Make and fulfill your vows to the LORD your God; let all the neighboring lands bring tribute to Him who is to be feared.

11 Cumpram todas as promessas que fizeram ao Senhor, o seu Deus; não deixem de cumpri-las. Que todas as nações vizinhas tragam ofertas de gratidão para Deus, aquele que é digno de temor e honra.

12 He breaks the spirits of princes; He is feared by the kings of the earth.

12 Ele acaba com o orgulho dos príncipes, e todos os reis da terra têm medo dele por causa dos seus grandes feitos!
