Psalms 77

1 For the choirmaster. According to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to God; I cried aloud to God to hear me.

1 Nilimlilia Mungu ili anisaidie, nilimlilia Mungu ili anisikie.

2 In the day of trouble I sought the Lord; through the night my outstretched hands did not grow weary; my soul refused to be comforted.

2 Nilipokuwa katika taabu, nilimtafuta Bwana, usiku nilinyoosha mikono bila kuchoka na nafsi yangu ilikataa kufarijika.

3 I remembered You, O God, and I groaned; I mused and my spirit grew faint. Selah

3 Ee Mungu, nilikukumbuka wewe, nikalia kwa huzuni; nikatafakari, roho yangu ikadhoofika.

4 You have kept my eyes from closing; I am too troubled to speak.

4 Ulizuia macho yangu kufumba; nilikuwa nasumbuka, nikashindwa kusema.

5 I considered the days of old, the years long in the past.

5 Nilitafakari juu ya siku zilizopita, miaka mingi iliyopita,

6 At night I remembered my song; in my heart I mused, and my spirit pondered:

6 nilikumbuka nilivyoimba nyimbo usiku. Moyo wangu ulitafakari na roho yangu ikauliza:

7 “Will the Lord spurn us forever and never show His favor again?

7 “Je, Bwana atakataa milele? Je, hatatenda mema tena?

8 Is His loving devotion gone forever? Has His promise failed for all time?

8 Je, upendo wake usio na mwisho umetoweka milele? Je, ahadi yake imekoma nyakati zote?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has His anger shut off His compassion?” Selah

9 Je, Mungu amesahau kuwa na huruma? Je, katika hasira amezuia huruma yake?”

10 So I said, “I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

10 Ndipo nikawaza, “Huu ndio udhaifu wangu: lakini nitakumbuka miaka ya mkono wa kuume wa Aliye Juu Sana.”

11 I will remember the works of the LORD; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old.

11 Nitayakumbuka matendo ya Bwana; naam, nitaikumbuka miujiza yako ya zamani.

12 I will reflect on all You have done and ponder Your mighty deeds.

12 Nitazitafakari kazi zako zote na kuyawaza matendo yako makuu.

13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God?

13 Ee Mungu, njia zako ni takatifu. Ni mungu yupi aliye mkuu kama Mungu wetu?

14 You are the God who works wonders; You display Your strength among the peoples.

14 Wewe ndiwe Mungu utendaye miujiza, umeonyesha uwezo wako katikati ya mataifa.

15 With power You redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah

15 Kwa mkono wako wenye nguvu umewakomboa watu wako, uzao wa Yakobo na Yosefu.

16 The waters saw You, O God; the waters saw You and swirled; even the depths were shaken.

16 Maji yalikuona, Ee Mungu, maji yalikuona yakakimbia, vilindi vilitetemeka.

17 The clouds poured down water; the skies resounded with thunder; Your arrows flashed back and forth.

17 Mawingu yalimwaga maji, mbingu zikatoa ngurumo kwa radi, mishale yako ikametameta huku na huko.

18 Your thunder resounded in the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.

18 Ngurumo yako ilisikika katika upepo wa kisulisuli, umeme wako wa radi ukaangaza dunia, nchi ikatetemeka na kutikisika.

19 Your path led through the sea, Your way through the mighty waters, but Your footprints were not to be found.

19 Njia yako ilipita baharini, mapito yako kwenye maji makuu, ingawa nyayo zako hazikuonekana.

20 You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

20 Uliongoza watu wako kama kundi kwa mkono wa Mose na Aroni.
