Job 36

1 And Elihu continued:

1 以利户又说：

2 “Bear with me a little longer, and I will show you that there is more to be said on God’s behalf.

2 “再给我片刻，容我讲明， 我还有话替上帝说。

3 I get my knowledge from afar, and I will ascribe justice to my Maker.

3 我要旁征博引， 证明我的创造主公义。

4 For truly my words are free of falsehood; one perfect in knowledge is with you.

4 我的话绝非虚言， 知识全备者在你身旁。

5 Indeed, God is mighty, but He despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding.

5 “上帝有大能，但不藐视人， 祂无所不知。

6 He does not keep the wicked alive, but He grants justice to the afflicted.

6 祂不容恶人活命， 祂为穷苦人申冤。

7 He does not take His eyes off the righteous, but He enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever.

7 祂时时看顾义人， 使他们与君王同坐宝座， 永远受尊崇。

8 And if men are bound with chains, caught in cords of affliction,

8 他们若被锁链捆绑， 被苦难的绳索缠住，

9 then He tells them their deeds and how arrogantly they have transgressed.

9 祂就会指明他们的所作所为， 让他们知道自己狂妄的罪愆。

10 He opens their ears to correction and commands that they turn from iniquity.

10 祂开启他们的耳朵，使之受教， 督促他们离开罪恶。

11 If they obey and serve Him, then they end their days in prosperity and their years in happiness.

11 他们若听从、事奉祂， 就可一生幸福，安享天年。

12 But if they do not obey, then they perish by the sword and die without knowledge.

12 否则，他们必死于刀下， 在无知中灭亡。

13 The godless in heart harbor resentment; even when He binds them, they do not cry for help.

13 不信上帝的人心存愤怒， 被上帝捆绑也不求救。

14 They die in their youth, among the male shrine prostitutes.

14 他们早年丧命， 与庙中的男妓一同夭亡。

15 God rescues the afflicted by their affliction and opens their ears in oppression.

15 上帝借苦难拯救受苦的人， 借患难开通他们的耳朵。

16 Indeed, He drew you from the jaws of distress to a spacious and broad place, to a table full of richness.

16 祂也要引领你脱离困境， 进入广阔自由之地， 使你享受满桌佳肴。

17 But now you are laden with the judgment due the wicked; judgment and justice have seized you.

17 “但你饱受恶人当得的审判， 审判和惩罚临到了你。

18 Be careful that no one lures you with riches; do not let a large bribe lead you astray.

18 当心，不可因愤怒而嘲骂， 不可因赎金大就偏离正道。

19 Can your wealth or all your mighty effort keep you from distress?

19 难道你呼求、使出浑身力气， 就能脱离困境吗？

20 Do not long for the night, when people vanish from their homes.

20 不要渴望黑夜来临， 那时众民在家中消亡。

21 Be careful not to turn to iniquity, for this you have preferred to affliction.

21 当心，不可转向罪恶， 因你喜欢罪恶胜于苦难。

22 Behold, God is exalted in His power. Who is a teacher like Him?

22 看啊，上帝的能力无以伦比。 谁能像祂那样赐人教诲？

23 Who has appointed His way for Him, or told Him, ‘You have done wrong’?

23 谁能为祂指定道路？ 谁能说祂行事不义？

24 Remember to magnify His work, which men have praised in song.

24 人们都歌唱祂的作为， 你也要记得颂扬。

25 All mankind has seen it; men behold it from afar.

25 祂的作为，天下人都已看见， 世人从远处目睹。

26 Indeed, God is great—beyond our knowledge; the number of His years is unsearchable.

26 我们无法明白上帝的伟大， 祂的年岁无法数算。

27 For He draws up drops of water which distill the rain from the mist,

27 祂吸取水滴， 使之在云雾中化为雨，

28 which the clouds pour out and shower abundantly on mankind.

28 从云端沛然降下， 滋润人间。

29 Furthermore, who can understand how the clouds spread out, how the thunder roars from His pavilion?

29 谁能明白云层的铺展， 及祂幔幕发出的雷声？

30 See how He scatters His lightning around Him and covers the depths of the sea.

30 祂在四围铺展闪电， 覆盖大海的深处。

31 For by these He judges the nations and provides food in abundance.

31 祂借此治理万民， 赐下丰富的食物。

32 He fills His hands with lightning and commands it to strike its mark.

32 祂手握闪电， 令它射向目标。

33 The thunder declares His presence; even the cattle regard the rising storm.

33 雷声显明祂的作为， 就连牲畜也能察觉。
