Psalms 50

1 A Psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from where the sun rises to where it sets.

1 El Dios de dioses, el Señor, ha convocado a toda la humanidad, desde el oriente hasta el occidente.

2 From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.

2 Dios resplandece desde Sion, la ciudad bella y perfecta.

3 Our God approaches and will not be silent! Consuming fire precedes Him, and a tempest rages around Him.

3 Nuestro Dios, con rugir de trueno se acerca; todo lo destruye con fuego a su paso, y en torno suyo ruge la tormenta.

4 He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that He may judge His people:

4 El cielo y la tierra serán sus testigos cuando él juzgue a su pueblo:

5 “Gather to Me My saints, who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

5 «Reúnan a mi pueblo: a los que han hecho un pacto conmigo mediante un sacrificio».

6 And the heavens proclaim His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge. Selah

6 El cielo proclama la justicia divina, porque Dios mismo es el juez.

7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, your God.

7 ¡Escucha, pueblo mío, que voy a hablar! Estas son mis acusaciones en contra tuya, Israel. ¡Porque yo soy Dios, el Dios tuyo!

8 I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices, and your burnt offerings are ever before Me.

8 No tengo queja alguna por los sacrificios o las ofrendas quemadas que traes a mi altar, pues los traes con regularidad.

9 I have no need for a bull from your stall or goats from your pens,

9 Pero no son los toros de tu establo ni las cabras de tu aprisco lo que quiero;

10 for every beast of the forest is Mine—the cattle on a thousand hills.

10 pues todos los animales del bosque son míos, y del ganado de mil colinas yo soy dueño.

11 I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are Mine.

11 Cada ave de los montes y todos los animales del campo me pertenecen.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and the fullness thereof.

12 Si tuviera hambre, no te lo diría; porque mío es el mundo y todo lo que en él hay.

13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

13 No necesito tus toros de sacrificios ni la sangre de tus machos cabríos.

14 Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and fulfill your vows to the Most High.

14 Lo que quiero de ti es verdadera gratitud a Dios; quiero que cumplas tus promesas al Altísimo.

15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”

15 Confía en mí en tus tribulaciones para que yo te libre y puedas darme la gloria.

16 To the wicked, however, God says, “What right have you to recite My statutes and to bear My covenant on your lips?

16 Pero al malvado dice Dios: No recites más las leyes mías y deja de fingir que me obedeces,

17 For you hate My instruction and cast My words behind you.

17 pues has rechazado mi disciplina, y menospreciado mis leyes.

18 When you see a thief, you befriend him, and throw in your lot with adulterers.

18 Ves a un ladrón, y le ayudas y pasas el tiempo en compañía de adúlteros.

19 You unleash your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit.

19 Tu boca se llena de perversidades y tu lengua de mentiras.

20 You sit and malign your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.

20 Calumnias a tu hermano, al hijo de tu misma madre.

21 You have done these things, and I kept silent; you thought I was just like you. But now I rebuke you and accuse you to your face.

21 Mientras hiciste todo esto, yo guardé silencio; pensaste que nada me importaba, pero ahora llegó el momento de reprenderte, y plantearé la lista de acusaciones contra ti.

22 Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:

22 Arrepiéntanse todos los que se han olvidado de Dios, antes que los despedace y nadie pueda ayudarlos.

23 He who sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and to him who rightly orders his way, I will show the salvation of God.”

23 Pero el que me ofrenda su gratitud, me honra. Los que andan por mis sendas recibirán salvación del Señor.
