Psalms 57

1 For the choirmaster. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul into the cave. Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy, for in You my soul takes refuge. In the shadow of Your wings I will take shelter until the danger has passed.

1 Misericórdia, ó Deus, misericórdia! O Senhor é o abrigo da minha alma; eu me escondo debaixo das suas asas até que passe o perigo.

2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.

2 Pedirei ajuda ao Deus Altíssimo; ele é quem cumpre todos os seus propósitos para comigo.

3 He reaches down from heaven and saves me; He rebukes those who trample me. Selah God sends forth His loving devotion and His truth.

3 Lá do céu ele me manda ajuda e me salva. Ele deixa envergonhados os meus inimigos. Faz isso porque é fiel e tem um grande amor por mim.

4 My soul is among the lions; I lie down with ravenous beasts—with men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

4 Estou cercado de leões ferozes; seus dentes são lanças e flechas, e suas línguas, espadas afiadas.

5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth.

5 Ó Deus, seja exaltado; mostre o seu grande poder nos mais altos céus; faça a sua glória brilhar por toda a terra!

6 They spread a net for my feet; my soul was despondent. They dug a pit before me, but they themselves have fallen into it! Selah

6 Meus inimigos prepararam uma armadilha para mim. Fiquei abatido! Abriram uma cova no meu caminho, mas eles mesmos caíram nela!

7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and make music.

7 Meu coração está tranquilo e confiante, ó Deus! Cantarei louvores ao som de instrumentos!

8 Awake, my glory! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.

8 Acorde, minha alma! Acordem, harpas e liras! Vou acordar bem cedo!

9 I will praise You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples.

9 Entre as nações, em alta voz, cantarei hinos de gratidão e louvor ao Senhor,

10 For Your loving devotion reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.

10 porque o seu grande amor é maior que os céus. A sua fidelidade vai até as nuvens!

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth.

11 Sim, mostre o seu grande poder nos mais altos céus, ó Deus! Faça a sua glória brilhar por toda a terra!
