Psalms 46

1 For the choirmaster. Of the sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A song. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

1 Deus é o nosso refúgio e fortaleza. Ele é aquela ajuda na qual se pode confiar no dia da angústia.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth is transformed and the mountains are toppled into the depths of the seas,

2 Por isso não ficaremos perturbados, mesmo que a terra trema e as montanhas desabem dentro do mar.

3 though their waters roar and foam and the mountains quake in the surge. Selah

3 Ficaremos tranquilos, mesmo se houver grandes enchentes e terremotos a ponto de sacudirem os montes com a sua fúria.

4 There is a river whose streams delight the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

4 Há um rio que corre mansamente pela cidade de Deus, um rio que enche de alegria quem vive lá, o santo lugar onde vive o Altíssimo.

5 God is within her; she will not be moved. God will help her when morning dawns.

5 Deus mesmo vive ali. Por isso, ela não será abalada! O próprio Deus vem em seu auxílio desde o romper da manhã.

6 Nations rage, kingdoms crumble; the earth melts when He lifts His voice.

6 As nações gritam e se agitam iradas, mas quando Deus ergue a voz, a terra se derrete submissa — os reinos se encolhem, com medo e respeito.

7 The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

7 O Senhor dos Exércitos está entre nós; o Deus de Israel é a nossa proteção.

8 Come, see the works of the LORD, who brings devastation upon the earth.

8 Venham, vejam as grandes obras do Senhor! Vejam como ele castigou várias nações com a destruição!

9 He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields in the fire.

9 Ele acaba com a guerra em todo o mundo, quebrando o arco, despedaçando a lança e queimando os escudos com fogo.

10 “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.”

10 “Fiquem quietos e saibam, de uma vez por todas, que eu sou Deus! Todas as nações da terra hão de honrar o meu nome!”

11 The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
